The procedure used in Example 3: step b was followed using 2-iodo-3-methyl-benzoic acid tert-butyl ester ((Example 4: step a) 960 mg, 3 mmol), PdCl2(PPh3)2 (126 mg, 0.18 mmol), triethylamine (1.25 mL, 9 mmol), and 4,4,5,5-tetramethyl-[1,3,2]dioxaborolane (660 μL, 4.5 mmol) in dioxane (12 mL) at a reaction temperature of 80° C. Analogous aqueous workup and purification by SiO2 flash chromatography yielded the title compound (618 mg, 64%). 1H-NMR (CDCl3): δ 7.67 (m, 1H), 7.25 (m, 2H), 2.43 (s, 3H), 1.57 (m, 9H), 1.44 (m, 12H).
