Procedure
Acid 8.7 was prepared from ester 8.6 according to the procedure described above for the preparation acid 2.4. Thus, 8.6 (50 mg, 0.11 mmol) was saponified to yield 46 mg (95%) of 8.7. HRMS (ESI) calc'd for C31H31N2O3, 479.2335, found 479.2343 (MH+); 1H NMR (300 MHz, CDCl3) δ 7.72 (d, J=15.7, 1H), 7.46–7.21 (m, 8H), 7.12–7.08 (m, 4H), 6.97 (d, J=8.7, 2H), 6.60 (d, J=15.7, 1H), 5.06 (s, 2H), 4.04–3.97 (m, 1H), 2.10–1.85 (m, 5H), 1.65 (br s, 1H), 1.33–1.22 (m, 4H).
