Procedure

[(Methyl-pyridin-4-yl-carbamoyl)-methyl]carbamic acid tert-butyl ester (181) (7 g, 28.1 mmol) was dissolved in TFA (35 mL) at rt. The reaction had to be cooled to prevent excessive heat being released. Once the reaction had settled, it was left for 1 hr. TFA was evaporated and the residue co-evaporated with toluene (3×100 mL) and dried under vacuum to afford compound (182).
