Procedure
The obtained catalyst was pulverized into 20-40 mesh. 25 g of the pulverized catalyst was placed in a slurry reactor as mentioned above, 100 g of tetrahydrofuran, 5 g of acetic anhydride and 2 g of acetic acid were added. The temperature of the reactor was raised to 40° C. and reacted for 5 hours. After the completion of the reaction, the catalyst was removed from the mixture by filtration, and the unreacted tetrahydrofuran was recovered by reduced distillation. Polytetramethylene ether acetate with a number average molecular weight of 1223 and a Mw/Mn=1.98 was obtained. The yield is 58.2%.
