Product from step B (0.39 g; 0.96 mmol) and NaOH 2N, (1.25 ml) in MeOH (8 ml) was heated at reflux for 2 hours. After evaporation of the solvent and neutralisation at pH6, the residue was purified on reverse phase silica eluting with MeOH/(NH4)2CO3 buffer (2 g/l, pH7) 20/80 to give 4-[3-(imidazol-1-yl)-2-(thiazol-2-yl)-propyl]-2-phenyl-benzoic acid.
