To a solution of 4-chloro-8-(2,4-difluorophenyl)-2-(methylthio)pyrido[2,3-d]pyrimidin-7(8H)-one (2.5 g, 7.6 mmol) in DCM (100 ml) was added m-CPBA (2.2 g, 10.2 mmol). The mixture was stirred for 10 min and evaporated. Flash chromatography (EtOAc) provided the title compound as a yellow solid (2.1 g, 80%): LC-MS m/z 356 (M+H)+ retention 2.43 min.
