Reaction Steps

13.0 g (0.05 mol) of 6-phthalimido-2,5-hexanedione and 9.1 g (0.05 mol) of 2-(3,4-dimethoxyphenyl)-ethylamine are stirred in 250 ml of acetic acid at 80° C. for 7 hours. After working up as in Example 1, 7.3 g of product are obtained.
