Procedure
The compound of example 106 (2.5 g) is dissolved in ethanol (20 ml) and added of potassium iodide (0.4 g) and potassium cyanide (0.75 g). The mixture is refluxed for about 8 hours. The reaction mixture is then hot filtered, and the filtrate is concentrated to dryness. The residue is taken up with water and extracted with methylene chloride (2×25 ml). The pooled organic layer is dried over sodium sulfate and concentrated to dryness. The residue, which is the compound of the title, crystallizes from methanol. Yield: 70%. M.p. 117°-119° C.
