A solution of 4-(3,4-dichlorophenoxy)-1-[(2R)-oxiran-2-ylmethyl]piperidine (1 g, 3.31 mmol) and methylamine (2.56 ml 40% in H2O, 33.1 mmol) in ethanol (15 ml) was heated at 60° C. in a sealed vessel for 16 h. The solvent was evaporated at reduced pressure and the residue purified by flash column chromatography eluting with 8% 7M ammonia methanol in dichloromethane to give the title compound (875 mg).
