Procedure

3-methoxy-4-nitro-benzoyl chloride (Intermediate 189; 1.0 g, 4.64 mmol) was dissolved in DCM (20 mL) and cooled on an ice bath. DIPEA (970 uL) was added dropwise. 1-amino-4-dimethylaminocyclohexane (ABChem. Inc.; 660 mg, 4.64 mmol) was dissolved in DCM (10 mL) and added to the reaction solution. The reaction mixture was brought back to room temperature and stirred for 2 hours. The reaction mixture was washed with brine and NaOH (aq). The organic layer was extracted by filtering through a PTFE cup and evaporated to yield the title compound as an orange solid (1.54 g, 100%).
