2-(2-Chloro-pyridin-4-yl)-5-ethyl-7,7-dimethyl-5,7-dihydro-1H-imidazo[4,5-f]indol-6-one is prepared from 2-chloro-N-(1-ethyl-3,3-dimethyl-6-nitro-2-oxo-2,3-dihydro-1H-indol-5-yl)-isonicotinamide (230 mg) as described in Example 1b using Raney-nickel (50 mg) instead of Pd/C. After filtration the filtrate is poured into ice-water and the precipitate is collected by filtration to give the desired compound (140 mg).
