To a suspension of crude 6-Bromo-4-methoxymethylene-4H-isoquinoline-1,3-dione (56.4 mg, 0.2 mmol) in N,N-dimethylformamide (500 μL) is added 4-pyrrolidin-1-ylmethyl-phenylamine (35.2 mg, 0.2 mmol). The reaction mixture is shaken at 115° C. for 1.5 hours. Upon cooling to room temperature, the product precipitated out. The precipitate is then filtered off, rinsed with copious amounts of ether, and dried to yield 78.8 mg of 6-Bromo-4-[(4-pyrrolidin-1-ylmethyl-phenylamino)-methylene]-4H-isoquinoline-1,3-dione.
