Procedure

6-Bromo-4-methoxymethylene-4H-isoquinoline-1,3-dione (250 mg, 0.89 mmol), and 4-amino-butan-1-ol (79 mg, 0.89 mmol) in N,N-dimethylformamide (DMF) (5 mL) is stirred at 25° C. for 3 days. A precipitate formed. The reaction mixture is cooled to 0° C. The precipitate is filtered and dried in vacuo to give 195 mg (64.5%) of the title compound as a tan powder. HRMS (ESI) m/z calcd for C14H15BrN2O3 (M+H)+1 339.03389. found: 339.03308.
