Procedure
To a solution of 380 mg (0.80 mmol) of the product from Step B in 7.5 mL of 2:1 THF/methanol was added 2.5 mL (2.5 mmol) of 1N aqueous lithium hydroxide solution. The reaction mixture was stirred at ambient temperature for 3 h, then the organic solvent removed in vacuo. The mixture was quenched with 50 mL of 1N aqueous hydrochloric acid, and extracted with 50 mL of ethyl acetate. The organic solution was next washed with 1N aqueous hydrochloric acid, once with saturated aqueous brine (50 mL each), dried over sodium sulfate, filtered and concentrated in vacuo. The crude solid was purified by reverse phase HPLC (YMC Pro-C18 column, gradient elution, 0% to 80% acetonitrile/water with 0.1% TFA) to afford the title compound as a white foam. LC/MS 462.4 (M+1).
