1-Benzyl-4-(4-fluoro-2-nitrophenylamino)-piperidine (10.1 g) were dissolved in 1:1 THF-methanol (150 ml) and hydrogenated with Pt/C (1.5 g, 10%) at room temperature for 1.5 h. The catalyst was then removed by filtration, and the filtrate evaporated to yield 9.1 g of the title compound as an oil. The compound was used without further purification.
