The mixture of 5-fluoro-2-iodo-3-phenyl-furo[2,3-b]pyridin-4-ol (5) (90.0 mg, 0.24, mmol), dimethyl-(2-[4-(4,4,5,5-tetramethyl-(1,3,2)dioxaborolan-2-yl)-phenoxy]-ethyl)-amine (114.0 mg, 0.39 mmol), LiCl (33.1 mg, 0.78 mmol), Pd(dppf)2Cl2 DCM (24.5 mg, 0.03 mmol) and Na2CO3 (0.33 mL, 2.0 M in water, 0.65 mmol) was degassed and heated to 80° C. with stirring under nitrogen for 5 h. The solvent was removed. The residue was purified by preparative HPLC to give the title compound. MS (m/z), M+H+ 393.2.
