A solution containing 0.83 g (0.0014 mol) of 2-morpholin-4-yl-5-{[3-(trichloroacetyl)-5H-pyrrolo[2,1-c][1,4]benzodiazepin-10(11H)-yl]carbonyl}benzenesulfonamide of Step C and 0.30 g (0.0028 mol) of 3-aminomethylpyridine in 25 mL of 1,4-dioxane was stirred under reflux overnight. The reaction mixture was allowed to cool to room temperature and poured into 200 mL of water. The beige solid that precipitated was collected and washed with water to provide the title compound (0.35 g), m.p. 159-161° C.
