Procedure

To a solution of 2-(1-{[tert-butyl(dimethyl)silyl]oxy}-2,3-dihydro-1H-inden-5-yl)-1,3-thiazole (630 mg, 1.9 mmol) in tetrahydrofuran (10.00 mL) was added a 1.00 M solution of tetrabutylammonium fluoride, trihydrate in tetrahydrofuran (1.90 mL) at 0° C. The ice bath was removed and the reaction mixture was stirred at room temperature for 1 h. The mixture was diluted with ether, washed with saturated NaCl aqueous solution, dried over anhydrous MgSO4, filtered and evaporated under reduced pressure to afford the desired product (410 mL, 99%).
