A mixture of 4-chloro-8-(2,4-difluorophenyl)-2-{[2-hydroxy-1-(hydroxymethyl)ethyl]amino}pyrido[2,3-d]pyrimidin-7(8H)-one (20 mg, 0.047 mmol), 3-(dihydroxyboranyl)benzoic acid (11.8 mg, 0.07 mmol), K2CO3 (20 mg, 0.14 mmol), tetrakis(triphenylphosphine)palladium (2 mg, 0.0017 mmol), dioxane (1.2 ml), and water (0.4 ml) was heated in a sealed microwave vessel at 150 degrees for 10 min. The cooled solution was treated with DCM (3 ml), passed through a hydrophobic frit directly onto a silica cartridge (2 g). The cartridge was eluted with EtOAc followed by EtOAc/MeOH (9:1) to provide the title compound as a brown solid (20 mg, 80%) LC-MS m/z 469 (M+H)+ retention 2.73 min.
