Procedure

To a stirring solution of 47.6 (0.75 g, 2.8 mmol) in EtOH (25 mL) at 23° C., is added PPTS (catalytic). The mixture is stirred until TLC confirms consumption of the starting material. The mixture is concentrated in vacuo. The residue is purified by column chromatography (silica, EtOAc/Hexane), to afford alcohol 47.7.
