3-fluoro-N1-(2-fluorophenyl)benzene-1,2-diamine (0.44 g, 2 mmol) and carbonyl diimidazole (0.29 g, 1.8 mmol) in tetrahydrofuran (10 mL) was stirred at room temperature overnight. Upon disappearance of the starting material, the reaction was partitioned between 1 N hydrochloric acid (100 mL) and ethyl acetate (100 mL). The organics were dried over sodium sulfate and concentrated to give 4-fluoro-1-(2-fluorophenyl)-1,3-dihydro-2H-benzimidazol-2-one as a white solid in near quantitative yield. MS (ES) m/z 247.0
