Procedure

To a stirred solution of 0.5 g of 1-[(2R,4R,5R)-4-(4-methoxy-phenyl)-5-[4-(3-methoxy-propyl)-3,4-dihydro-2H-benzo[1,4]oxazin-6-ylmethoxy]-1-(toluene-4-sulfonyl)-piperidin-2-yl]-but-3-en-2-one in 1.5 ml of methanol is added 38 mg of 2,8,9-tri-sec-butyl-2,5,8,9-tetraaza-1-phospha-bicyclo[3.3.3]undecane and the reaction mixture is heated to 35° C. for 1 day. The reaction mixture is diluted with 1N hydrochloric acid solution and extracted with ethyl acetate. The organic phases are combined, dried and concentrated under reduced pressure to afford the crude title compound. The residue is purified by flash chromatography (SiO2 60 F) to afford the title compound as a yellow oil. Rf=0.25 (EtOAc-heptane 2:3); Rt=5.16.
