Reaction Steps
23 g (0.10 moles) 4-chloro-3-nitro-1-trifluoromethyl-benzene are heated with 30 g 1-amino-2,3-propandiol for 3 hours to 100° C. After cooling, the product is precipitated with water, vacuumed off and dried. One obtains 26.7 g (93% of the theoretical yield) of a yellow product with a melting range of 117°-118 C.
