Reaction Steps
A solution of 2-chlorobenzothiazole (5.0 g) in 1,2-diamino-2-methylpropane (20 ml) and pyridine (2.3 ml) was stirred 2 h at RT. The solvent was evaporated. Flash chromatography (silica gel; CH2Cl2/MeOH) provided 6.2 g of a colorless oil, which crystallized upon standing.
