Reaction Steps
15 g (41.7 mmol) of N-[3-(N-benzyl-N-methylamino)-1-propyl]-1-methyl-4-imidazolesulfonamide hydrochloride from Example 28 are hydrogenated in a solution of 100 ml of 25% strength ammonia solution and 100 ml of ethanol in the presence of 2 g of 10% strength Pd/C catalyst. After completion of the absorption of hydrogen and filtering off the catalyst, the filtrate is evaporated in vacuo. The residue is recrystallized from ethanol in order to give the title compound of melting point 169°-170° C.
