Procedure
The procedure of Example 1-(iii) was followed using 0.5 g (1.63 mmol) of 2-[2-n-butyl-1-{(2-chlorophenyl)methyl}-1H-imidazol-5-yl]acetic acid, 0.21 g (1.79 mmol) of N-hydroxysuccinimide, 0.37 g (1.79 mmol) of dicyclohexylcarbodiimide, 0.27 g (2.12 mmol) of glycine methyl ester hydrochloride, triethylamine (0.3 mL, 2.12 mmol) and methylene chloride (15 mL), there was obtained 0.33 g (53%) of N-[{2-n-butyl-1-(2-chlorophenyl)methyl-1H-imidazol-5-yl}methylcarbonyl]glycine methyl ester as an oil.
