1.07 g of N-[4-(2,6-dimethoxy-4-methylphenyl)-2-thiazolyl]-1-(tert-butoxycarbonylmethyl)indole-2-carboxamide (prepared according to EP-A-0,432,040) are dissolved in a mixture of 2 ml of anisole and 20 ml of TFA. The reaction mixture is left for 3/4 hour at r.t. and then concentrated under vacuum. The residue is taken up in ether, and the precipitate is then filtered off and dried in an oven to obtain 1.13 g of the expected compound; m.p.=223°-224° C.
