According to the procedure described in Example 3, 105.8 g of 1,4,7,10-tetraazacyclododecane (0.62 mol) in 600 ml of CH3CN are added to a suspension of 40 g of 3-[(2-chloro-1-oxoethyl)amino]-α-ethyl-2,4,6-triiodobenzenepropanoic acid (prepared as described in Example 1) (0.62 mol) in 500 ml of CH3CN. 35.8 g of N-[3-(2-carboxybutyl)-2,4,6-triiodophenyl]-1,4,7,10-tetraazacyclododecane-1-acetamide (0.046 mol) are obtained.
