Procedure

Dissolve benzyl 4-(4-acetylphenyl)-3-oxopiperazine-1-carboxylate (420 mg, 1.20 mmol) in MeOH (100 mL). Flush the flask with N2 and add 10% Pd/C (100 mg). Hydrogenate overnight under a hydrogen filled balloon. Remove the catalyst by filtration through Celite and wash with MeOH. Evaporate the solvent to yield the title compound. LC-MS (M+1): 219.13.
