86 mg (0.15 mmol) of methyl 2-[4-(4-fluorophenoxy)benzenesulfonyl]-6-(2-morpholin-4-ylethoxy)-1,2,3,4-tetrahydroisoquinoline-1-carboxylate are heated in 15 ml of 6 N HCl to 70° C. After one hour, the mixture is allowed to cool to room temperature and neutralized with 5 N NaOH. The aqueous solution is extracted with ethyl acetate, and the organic phase is dried with MgSO4 and concentrated, allowing the carboxylic acid to be isolated in a yield of 75%.
