To a solution of 5-[5-(hydroxymethyl)-2-thienyl]-3-(1-{[3-(1-pyrrolidinyl)propyl]sulfonyl}-4-piperidinyl)-1H-indole-7-carboxamide (14.4 mg, 0.027 mmol) in THF (5 mL) was added MnO2(71.7 mg, 0.81 mmol). The reaction mixture was stirred at room temperature overnight and filtered through a pad of celite after that. The filtrate was collected and concentrated at reduced pressure to give the crude product (8.3 mg, 58%), which was used in the next step without further purification.
