Following a similar procedure to that described in Example (1b), 2.5 g of N-[1-(3,4-difluorophenyl)ethyl]-N-[(4-fluoro-3-nitrophenyl)-(4-methoxyphenyl)methyl]amine [prepared as described in step (a) above], 3.29 g of nickel chloride hexahydrate and 957 mg of sodium borohydride were reacted, to obtain 1.82 g of the title compound as a yellow oil.
