PROCEDURE

实验过程

1.45 g (38.1 mmol) of lithium aluminum hydride were added in portions with ice-cooling to a suspension of 3.5 g (15.2 mmol) of ethyl (S)-3-amino-3-phenyl-propionate hydrochloride in 150 ml of absolute THF and the mixture was stirred at room temperature for 1 hour. 5 ml of water were then cautiously added dropwise the ice-cooling. The precipitate was filtered off and the filtrate was concentrated in vacuo. The residue was taken up in DCM and the solution was extracted with water. The organic phase was dried over sodium sulfate. After filtration and removal of the solvent in vacuo, 1.84 g of (S)-3-amino-3-phenylpropanol were obtained.
