Reaction Steps
7 g 4,5-dimethoxy 2-amino benzoic acid and 8 ml formamide were heated 2 hours at 170° C. Cold water was added and the solid filtered to give 0.9 g, 12% yield, light-brown solid, mp. 308° C.
