Procedure

A solution of 1-((5-(3-chlorophenyl)-6-methoxypyridin-3-yl)methyl)-1H-pyrazole-4-carbonitrile (Example 170, 25.00 mg, 0.08 mmol) in MeOH (1.54 mL) was heated to 50° C., until the starting material dissolved. Sodium hydroxide (0.23 mL, 1.00 mol/L, 0.23 mmol) and hydrogen peroxide (0.23 mL, 1.00 mol/L, 0.23 mmol) were added and the reaction stirred at 50° C. for 2 h. Water was added (5 mL), and the mixture was filtered and washed with water (3×5 mL) to afford the title compound as a solid (25.0 mg, 95%). 1H NMR (400 MHz, DMSO-d6) δ 8.20 (d, J=13.69 Hz, 2H), 7.80 (d, J=14.48 Hz, 2H), 7.65-7.37 (m, 5H), 6.95 (br s, 1H), 5.32 (br s, 2H), 3.87 (br s, 3H). [M+H]=343.33.
