The solution of 0.68 g (1.45 mmol) of methyl 2-amino-5-{[8-(2-tert-butoxy-2-oxoethoxy)-1-methoxy-2-methylindolizin-3-yl]carbonyl}benzoate in 4.44 ml of trifluoroacetic acid and 7 ml of dichloromethane is stirred. After stirring at ambient temperature for 48 hours, the reaction medium is concentrated to dryness and the red solid obtained is taken up in ethyl ether. The solid in suspension is filtered and is dried at 50° C. under vacuum so as to obtain 0.58 g (95%) of an orange powder.
