2.0 g (12 mmol) of the material from Step E was dissolved in 24 mL of methanol. 12 mL of 1N solution of sodium hydroxide was added. After 1 hour the solvent was removed with a rotary evaporator. The residue was dried in a vacuum oven overnight to afford 2.39 g of the title compound as a tan solid.
