A solution of tin dichloride (1.93 g, 10.2 mmol) in HCl solution (0.85 ml, 6 M, 5.08 mmol) was added to a suspension of the product from Step (a) (0.5 g, 2.54 mmol) in 1.5 ml ethanol. The reaction mixture was heated at 60° C. for 30 minutes and then cooled to room temperature. The solvent was evaporated to dryness and purified by silica gel chromatography eluting with 30% EtOAc in CH2Cl2 to afford the title compound, (0.04 g, 10%); MS (ES+) m/e 168 [M+H]+.
