N-[2-{[tert-butyl(dimethyl)silyl]oxy}-1-(4-{[(tert-butylsulfinyl)amino]-methyl}thiophen-2-yl)ethyl]-N-(3-methylbutyl)benzenesulfonamide (127 mg, 0.211 mmol) was dissolved in 2.1 mL MeOH. The mixture was cooled to 0° C. before the addition of HCl (0.264 mL of a 4 M solution in dioxane, 1.06 mmol). The mixture was stirred for 120 minutes and the solvents were removed by co-evaporation with toluene.
