3.05 ml of 2N sodium hydroxide are added to a solution of 865 mg of (4-morpholin-4-yl-6-thioxo-1,6-dihydropyrimidin-2-yl)acetic acid ethyl ester in 15 ml of THF. The reaction medium is stirred at ambient temperature for 24 hours. The reaction medium is concentrated under reduced pressure. The residue obtained is oven-dried under vacuum in the presence of P2O5, so as to give 0.8 g of sodium (4-morpholin-4-yl-6-thioxo-1,6-dihydropyrimidin-2-yl)acetate, the characteristics of which are the following:
