A solution of 3-(4-(5-(2-cyclopentyl-6-methoxypyridin-4-yl)-1,2,4-oxadiazol-3-yl)-2-ethyl-6-methylphenoxy)propyl methanesulfonate (1.30 g, 2.52 mmol) in 7 N NH3 in methanol (30 mL) is stirred at 55° C. for 24 h. The mixture is concentrated and dried to give crude 3-(4-(5-(2-cyclopentyl-6-methoxypyridin-4-yl)-1,2,4-oxadiazol-3-yl)-2-ethyl-6-methylphenoxy)propan-1-amine (1.24 g) as a pale yellow foam; LC-MS: tR=0.95 min, [M+H]+=437.33.
