A mixture of N-(5-((2-chloropyridin-4-yl)oxy)-4,6-dimethylpyridin-2-yl)acetamide (598 mg, 2.05 mmol), 1-methyl-4-(4,4,5,5-tetramethyl-1,3,2-dioxaborolan-2-yl)-1H-pyrazole (554 mg, 2.66 mmol), K2CO3 (850 mg, 6.15 mmol) and Pd(PPh3)4 (118 mg, 0.102 mmol) in dioxane (8 mL) and water (2 mL) was sparged with Ar and heated at 80° C. overnight. The mixture was cooled to RT, diluted with EtOAc, washed with satd. NaHCO3, then brine, dried over Na2SO4 and concentrated to dryness to afford crude N-(4,6-dimethyl-5-((2-(1-methyl-1H-pyrazol-4-yl)pyridin-4-yl)oxy)pyridin-2-yl)acetamide (100% yield assumed) which was used without further purification. MS (ESI) m/z: 338.1 (M+H+).
