Trifluoromethanesulfonic anhydride (1.3 g, 4.6 mmol) was slowly added to a 0° C. solution of C5 (600 mg, 1.6 mmol) in pyridine (15 mL), and the reaction mixture was stirred at room temperature for 3 hours. After solvent had been removed under reduced pressure, the residue was purified by silica gel chromatography (Gradient: 5% to 17% ethyl acetate in petroleum ether) to afford the product as a yellow oil. Yield: 790 mg, 1.55 mmol, 97%. 1H NMR (400 MHz, CDCl3) δ 7.27-7.33 (m, 2H), 7.21-7.25 (m, 1H), 5.50 (AB quartet, JAB=9.2 Hz, ΔνAB=4.1 Hz, 2H), 3.73-3.79 (m, 2H), 3.02 (s, 3H), 2.26 (br s, 3H), 1.63 (s, 3H), 1.00-1.06 (m, 2H), 0.03 (s, 9H).
