Reaction Steps

A mixture of 1-methyl-N5 -[3-[3-(1-piperidinylmethyl)phenoxy]propyl]-1H-1,2,4-triazole-3,5-diamine (2.00 g) and methylisocyanate (1.2 g) in dry acetonitrile (60 ml) was heated at reflux for 2 h. and allowed to cool. The precipitated solid was collected and recrystallised from methanol to give the title compound (1.9 g).
