Procedure

Using procedure 49, 2-(dipropylamino)-2,3-dihydro-1H-indene-5,6-dicarboxylate (92, 0.35 g, 1.0 mmol) was treated with 2-aminomethylpyridine (0.4 mL, 4.0 mmol). Purification via using silica gel, eluting with 2:1 CH2Cl2 /acetone, afforded an oil that was converted to an HCl salt and recrystallized from hot MeOH/EtOAc to give 115 as a white solid (m.p. 130-135° C.).

Workup

  1. customPurification
  2. washeluting with 2:1 CH2Cl2 /acetone
  3. customafforded an oil that
  4. customrecrystallized from hot MeOH/EtOAc
