Procedure
Using procedure 49, 2-(dipropylamino)-2,3-dihydro-1H-indene-5,6-dicarboxylate (92, 0.3 g, 1.0 mmol) was treated with 4-aminobenzamide (1.4 g, 10.0 mmol). Purification on silica gel, eluting with 9:1 CH2Cl2 /MeOH sat'd w/ NH3, afforded a solid that was converted to an HCl salt and recrystallized from EtOAc/MeOH to give 122 as a white solid (m.p. 275-276° C.).
