Procedure
A solution of N-[(4-chloro-1-guanidino-7-isoquinolinyl)carbonyl]-DL-leucine t-butyl ester (184 mg, 0.57 mmol) in CF3CO2H (1 mL) was stirred at room temperature for 1 h. The solution was diluted with PhMe, evaporated in vacuo, and the residue was triturated with Et2O to give N-[(4-chloro-1-guanidino-7-isoquinolinyl)carbonyl]-DL-leucine trifluoroacetate (183 mg, 0.37 mmol).
