This compound was prepared in a manner similar to that of 5'-fluoro-2'-methoxy-4-nitro-2-biphenylcarboxylic acid (EXAMPLE 107) from methyl 2',5'-dimethoxy-4-nitro-2-biphenylcarboxylate (2.07 g) to afford 1.93 g (99%) of 2',5'-dimethoxy-4-nitro-2-biphenylcarboxylic acid as a white solid. Data for 2',5'-dimethoxy-4-nitro-2-biphenylcarboxylic acid; 1H NMR (400 MHz, acetone-d6) 8.64 (d, J=2.5, 1 H), 8.43 (dd, J=8.4, 2.6, 1 H), 7.67 (d, J=8.5, 1 H), 6.94 (m, 2 H), 3.80 (s, 3 H), 3.68 (s, 3 H).
