The compound of Example 18 (430 mg, 0.9418 mmoles) was taken up in THF (5.8 ml) to which was added 1N NaOH (2.4 ml) and 2.5 ml H2O. The reaction mixture was stirred at room temperature under N2. After two hours, the THF was removed in vacuo and the reaction mixture was diluted to twice its volume with H2O and extracted with CHCl3. The aqueous phase was acidified with conc. HCl, extracted into CHCl3 and the organic phase was dried and concentrated. The residue was triturated with ether to afford the title compound, m.p. 110°-112°.
