5 g (18,2 mmol) 2-phenyl-1,2-benzoisoselenazole-3-(2H)-one are dissolved in 250 ml methanol and 30 ml dimethylformamide. A solution of 2,71 g (18,2 mmol) D-penicillamine in 100 ml water is added while stirring. To this clear solution, so much water is added until a slight haze is to be seen. After stirring for 18 hours, the precipitate is filtered and recristallized from ethanol/water (3:2).
